Henry takes Best of Opposite Sex at the IKC in '07. Henry is "Gilligan" out of Martha and Walker. He's our beautiful brown boy.

Henry's first outing in a show ring was at the IKC show in Chicago in February 2007, where he went Best of Opposite Sex in 6-9 Month Puppy Sweepstakes. He acquired a lion clip in anticipation of the 2008 IKC, where he won the Open Dog class at the Supported Entry.

Henry and JP - Ruthie's J litter - in the snow, winter 2007. Henry loves to romp and play outdoors, and was a great playmate for our puppy last winter, while he was visiting us and JP was still here. While JP's aunts quickly tired of her antics, Henry had lots of patience with her, and more than matched her energy level.

In August 2008 Henry went to Minnesota - still in a lion clip - for the PWD Regional Specialty. He won his first major - 5 point Best of Winners, over a lovely field of dogs. His human family was expecting a baby in October, so Henry stayed home that fall, grew out his hair, then welcomed a new baby boy into the household. After enjoying the holidays in Wisconsin with family, he returned to the show road in January 2009. In his first 2 outings in Florida, Henry got two more majors: Winner's Dog for 3 points and Best of Winners for 4 points. That left him 1 point short of his chamipionship. He came very close, going Reserve Winners Dog 3 times in the remaining Florida shows, but came back to Wisconsin needing that one point to finish.

Henry takes Winners Dog in Wisconsin. By the end of February, Henry's coat was just long enough to put back in a lion clip. He earned his championship close to home with a Best of Winners in Waukesha, with both his proud awner and breeder ringside to watch. Henry finished his just in time to impress his new girl, Casey. Seven puppies arrived in May 2009, 3 of them brown like their dad. Henry takes Best of Winners in Florida. A second litter of eight puppies with Ruthie arrived in July 2009 - this time with 5 brown puppies! A brown puppy bitch was chosen from each litter to go into a show home. Expect to see those girls making their ring debuts in the next few months. Henry is also expecting a third litter this winter. It's not known yet if there will be any brown puppies produced, so we are eagerly anticipating the surprise.

Henry is a moderate dog, energetic and sweet-natured. He's done some tracking with his owner, and is a loyal companion. He visits here on occasion and loves to join Cuervo, our male, in taking unscheduled runs into the pond. He's playful and affectionate, but also patient and gentle with his human "baby brother," sharing toys on a regular basis. Then again, Henry thinks he's human!
